My favourite Easter tradition

Sunshine buns at May Britt’s – my favourite Easter tradition, without comparison :-)

It has been a long cold winter, and it is still quite cold for the season – minus 15 C at night, and around plus 15 C in the sun during the days.
Luckily we got to sit outdoors and enjoy more sunshine buns, good coffee, good company, hand piecing and a lot of laughter.

We had so much fun piecing the same block,
May Britt the English paper piecing way, me traditional hand piecing.
It is fun to see how different a block can be in different colour ways :-)
May Britt used a fabric kit from Kathines Quilte Stue – I had, as you know, composed my own “kit”.

Our Easter tradition is so filled with Vitamin Q – we are getting up early to sew and enjoy each others company. I am already looking forward to next year!

Block and planning

I am not doing Just Plain Nuts blocks every day, but the blocks are coming along :-)

Here is me planning my Easter project.
I have been wanting to do a Carpenter’s Wheel for years. Now it is time :-)
Here is a mix of fabrics bought from Kathrines Quilte Stue (to the right) and from Lappeloftet (to the left). Adding a few from my own fabric collection made the mix good.

DH has been quite ill over the last week, so my block speed has not been very good, but as he is improving and not having to go to the hospital every day, I can get more done here in the corner.

Some progress

All my Life is Beautiful stitcheries are done!

It really felt strange to put the last stitchery stitch into the last stitchery, as the project has been a good friend for mornings and travels through the last year.

These Dresden flower blocks has been my hand work yesterday and today – not the piecing but the applique. I need to find a nice circle fabric - I think something red will look good on these flower.

Glimpses from the exhibition

I know I had more photos from the exhibition, including the winner of the show and many more.
It looks like the memory card in my camera might have had a glitch, as there is a significant opening between numbers.
I guess I need a formatting of the card, or a new card.
Oh well – nothing much to do about that now……..

I am sorry to see that it is very wrinkled from being sent across country several times since it left my Quilt Corner. I hope a better routine will be worked out for keeping the quilts nice looking in the future……..
