In Siw's cupboard

What I found in Siw's cupboard at Quiltegården is this cute little box with a pre-printed stitchery from The Birdhouse.
Treasure hunters deserves to find treasures, right ? :-)

Just showing you what I have bought makes me smile with joy - remembrance of lovely hours spent with dear friends, and I am also having a feeling of abundance and anticipation of hours spent through the autumn and winter, doing these stitcheries, using the fabrics.
My dear husband think I did not go overboard with the plastic card either - good, good, good - I will keep him for sure :-)

Have you ever tried doing stitchery with a variegated embroidery floss ?
I saw a couple things done like that in Trondheim and I am eager to try it myself too.
My brain is spinning with other ideas as well - I must be high on Vitamin Q again :-))
Remember - Quilting friends, Quilt fabrics, Quilt ideas and Quilt Fun :-))

Wow, you will be missing in action as you get busy with all your new treasures. You might want to hire a chef and maid so you can stitch non-stop for days and days!

Your new patterns are wonderful and the box with pre-printed designs is really cute!

I loved your vacation photos and re-cap of adventures. I am so so so glad you are feeling so much better and able to be out and doing fun things again! What a blessing!!

  4. Wow! What a wonderful collection of patterns and fabric and thread you accumulated on vacation. I'm hoping to have the same luck on my vacation in 10 days.

I haven't used variegated thread for stitcheries, but I did use it for my one and only hand quilting project. I wasn't thrilled with how it hand quilted. Perhaps it's because the stitches are further apart. I bet in stitcheries the thread would look better.

    Enjoy all your new goodies.

  5. It's so nice to sit at home with all your new treasures and dream about the good times you can look forward to. I can't imagine feeling the same way about a dress or a pair of shoes somehow!

  6. I love variegated threads and use them a lot - for quilting, for crazy quilt embellishing, and stitcheries, too. That red one you have that goes from dark to light is one of my favorite reds. If you don't mind telling me, how much do those cost over there?

I love the stitchery you bought! That's adorable.
