It has been a busy week, filled with lovely activities, like friends, quilting and stitchery :-)
Wednesday I celebrated my 1 year anniversary for my surgery - and it has been a good year!
Step by step I have come back to life, health and a better future!
This little sculpture I got as a belated Christmas gift from a dear friend the other day.
I think she is the perfect symbol for my anniversary!
Her name is Courage and the box she came in has the following text:
I created the first Angel of Courage in 2001 to celebrate the triumphant spirit, strength and courage we call upon to face challenges in our lives - whether they be our health, or the well-being of our loved ones. In response to requests for another figure that expresses this sentiment, I re-sculpted the original piece and named it Courage. I hope this angel can be a reminder of people in our lives who inspire us with their strength and courage everyday.

Courage is now living on my desk, inspiring me with her happy look :-)
Happy "Healthy" Anniversary! What a wonderful little sculpture to celebrate and acknowledge such a life changing event! I love the photo of her with the snowy yard in the background.
ReplyDeletehi Hanne! Your N I is going to be a m a z i n g !
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your year anniversary. I am very happy for you. And the Angel is lovely.
Hanna - I only know you through your blog and I get the impression you value life and have a "glass half full" attitude (as opposed to "half empty" attitude). I have a question and hope it is not to personal - Did your surgey give you a new appreciation or outlook on life? Would you say your surgery was a "life altering experience". -Canadian Gail P.S. I'm going to try and save the photo you provided as my screen saver.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the one year anniversary of your new life!
ReplyDeletewow, a year already! I am glad it was such a positive step for you.

Hi Hanne,
ReplyDeleteYour 'Nearly Insane' quilt is amazing. I love red too. Some of the blocks look tricky to piece.
Love to see the finished product.
Thank-you for the use of fabric diet stash badge. I am trying to use and reduce my stash as I have too much so this will be a great help and inspiration. Thanks for the link to the Graphic Garden web art. I have been looking for some suitable web art to put on my blog I have some already but the Graphic Garden has some lovely images.
Your 'Courage Angel' is lovely. I have seen other Angels like this and they are so nice.
Take Care & Kind Regards from Liz
Happy Anniversary! I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how long it's been since your surgery.
ReplyDeleteYour visit with Wenche sounds like loads of fun.
What a lovely sculpture and photo. It's hard to believe it's been a year since your surgery - happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteA year already?! Happy anniversary - what a nice anniversary to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Hei Hanne!
