Are you up for a challenge ??
The challenge runs from today to September 9 - 3 months, through the summer.
The challenge is about strips - Jelly Rolls or strips cut from your stash / fabric collection.
You may mix your strips with squares and other shapes if you need to, but your work shall reflect that you are working with 2,5" strips, one way or the other.
A lot of us has bought Jelly Rolls, which are 40 strips, 2,5" wide, coordinated fabrics.
They are beautiful, but if you are like me, you don't feel like open the roll just yet :-)
I bought mine in Shipshewana and I am enjoying looking at it every day.
Maybe this challenge will make me cut into it ?
I will draw a little price at the end of the challenge amongst all who participate and finish something from their strips / Jelly Rolls.
Please let me know when you have finished something.
If you don't have a blog so you can send me a comment on my blog, send me a mail and I will write you down on the finish list so you can be in the price draw in September :-)
Sounds wonderful! I have a good sized tub of 2.5 inch strips!!!!

What a fun challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou came to Shipshewana??? That's practically in my backyard! I hope you enjoyed it -- they certainly have lots of fabric. Did you go on an auction day? The strip challenge sounds fun -- I've never bought a jelly roll though LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I will like to join you in this challange. I have just made a quilttop of one jellyroll, but I still have 2 rolls left. I will use one for this challange. Have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm in :)
ReplyDeleteYou know me, I'm in as well :) Such a fun challenge, thank you! (I borrowed the badge as well...)

ReplyDeleteHi Hanne,
ReplyDeleteI would like to join too.
I have a couple of jelly roll WIPs
so this will be a great motivator to get them finished.
Kind regards from Liz
What a fun idea! Look forward to seeing lots of strip based quilts out in blogland over the summer! Might even see if I can get up the nerve to cut into the two jelly rolls still in my stash :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Hanne:
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to participate in the challenge this summer! I have lots and lots of strips cut into several bins and need to make a few things for gifts this summer...digging into those bins would be a wonderful challenge! Now to see if I can get it done :-).

ReplyDeleteI just bought my self another book about stripping (fabric that is)
ReplyDeleteI'll hopefully join you all in this challange. It will be the only one this summer. At least it gives me an opportunety to think about sewing :o)
Hanne, I found a pattern using all 2 1/2" strips with a little applique on top of the piecing. Would this work for the challenge? If so, count me in.

ReplyDeleteI just cut up a bunch of pink and brown fabric into 2 1/2" strips to make a braid style quilt and I have a tub of strips to make into heartstring blocks so I think I will play along too. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteNå har jeg endelig startet og tar utfordringen, Hanne!
