Friday again :-)

The days are flying so fast, with good things happening :-)

DD2 was home from school on autumn break last week, and the house is empty without her.
She and the furball have a close relation - I think the cat miss her too!
Talking about the strange cat - here DD2 is feeding her cucumber.
She eats cucumber, water melon and strawberries, as in chewing and licking the juice off and spitting out the rest.

Today I found her in the hall, having tilted my bag over and tried it on for size :-)

P1060749On Tuesday I could do a happy dance - the Seamen BOM quilt top is done and is now in the able hands of Merete, who will be quilting mine the same way she did her own.

On Tuesday evening DH and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with going out for dinner.

He bought me these beautiful roses, 25 of the kind, and I had bought him these cool cuff links.
In Norwegian Ekte Mann means Real Man and Ektemann (in one word) means Husband. DH loves word play, so these are perfect for him.
The cuff links are from Snella & Petronella, where they also make gorgeous buttons.
Now we have started the next 25 years, aiming for a gold anniversary :-)

P1060745 Brrrrrrr - it has been cold!
This was yesterday, and even the cat refuses to go out much.
She has not been on my table much since last winter.

P1060747 She does not appreciate the white stuff on the ground much either…… neither do I……..

P1060751Today I have finally finished the centre stitchery for Alle Fugler BOM.
I must admit I do not enjoy using Aurifil 12 WT with the muslin that came with the kit (as did the thread). Lesson learned!
The stitchery is 18" by 12" - a lot of stitches.
The fabric has a to high thread count to go well with that particular thread, just in case you wondered.

  3. You have done a lot lately. Love the seamen quilt and regret not ordering this BOM. Furball is so cute in the bag, and I soo agree with her not going out in the snow.
Better stay inside by the sewingtable.

  12. Congratulations on 25 years. That's a real milestone. I love how your friend quilted Seaman. Your quilt is beautiful. We are having Indian Summer here in New England. It's been quite warm - people are going around in shorts and cotton shirts. It won't last, but it's a nice break. It will probably snow next week!

  13. Nice quilt! Hum.... I did not read your last blog entry correctly! You are celebrating 25 years of marriage! I thought you looked young for 50! lol

Thanks for the review on the Aurifil floss/thread. Can you not substitute with a thread/floss that you like? I have mixed feelings when it comes to floss. There are so many new floss from various companies out there. The new crave seems to be the Cosmos floss! Cinderberry Stitches is presently using them in a new project and she likes them. But you know, I have hundreds of DMC colours and I really cannot see changing at this point in time. Sometimes, the old and familiar is good! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
