I have never seen a Dear Jane quilt I do not like, and in Nantes there were a lot of different Dear Jane quilts.
The exhibition room was full and the hall outside had quilts decorating all the walls high up.
My friend Brigitte and myself got a good stretch of the arms taking photos.
Not my sharpest photo I am afraid, but I will show you anyway.
This quilt is a Quilted Diamonds quilt – a diamond shaped version of Dear Jane brought to the quilt world by Linda Franz in 2 books.
This pink beauty belongs to Jolanda.
Check these beautiful triangles!!
I talked to the maker of this quilt, a lovely lady from England, and she told me that she had merged the Dear Jane pattern with an antique English quilt.
Isn’t it a lovely idea – make the quilt your own!
…….. and do not be afraid to bring a friend……

What a fabulous quilt show - thank you so much for posting these pictures!
ReplyDeletewonderful show, thanks for sharing. I have made two of them and they are very different looking in colors
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting DJ photos!! I must get mine finished. (Only needs rows sashed together!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us the Dear Jane quilts. I don't think I will ever make one but it is interesting to see all the variations.
ReplyDeleteTakk for at du deler bildene med oss. Gleder meg til å treffe deg på Hamar quilten i morgen :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your post because your patchwork quilt are so good to watch. I will love to have one of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the photos, it must have been an amazing experience to see the quilts in real life.
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are small so the pieces would be tiny-- are they done as foundation paper piecing or just very careful machining? I love your colour combination as shown on your previous post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts, thanks for the photos. I wonder what Jane Stickle would think of all these.
ReplyDeleteUtrolig flott å se alle de flotte quiltene. Takk for at du deler med oss andre!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Hanne. They really captured the feel of the exhibit. Hope Brenda sees them! I was re-inspired to continue the one I started in 1993, when I was never going to complete the entire quilt. Since then I have done hundreds of blocks, just not the ones to finish my quilt. Although Brenda P loved the background, I grew tired of trying to applique with those tiny painted on motifs making the needling difficult. But I have another idea and will just use the ones I have. I, too, have never seen a Dear Jane quilt I did not like!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time you must have had! I think my favorite Dear Jane's are the ones with more color.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Thank you for sharing and helping us remembering those wonderful days in Nantes. I'm missing my baby and hope it comes home soon!!!
