A new Advent Sunday, and a new lovely packet in the Advent calendar
This week has been filled with a lot of things outside the Quilt Corner and I see that I have forgotten to blog for a week.
So here goes – Last weekend:
We had a lovely time doing our Christmas baking at May Britt’s, for the 3rd year in a row.
Krumkaker, Coco Macaroons, Smultringer (Norwegian Christmas doughnuts)
Caramelized almonds – not difficult, but quite time consuming, and I think the batch we made was a tad big!
I think I might want to make some more, for gifts.
We also found some time for sewing – I love my blue Cornelian quilt more and more!
Brings back memories of the shops where I bought more blue fabrics in Shipshewana.
Sending happy thoughts to Lollys (Kris, Mike, Dawn) and Caroline’s Cottage Cottons in Rome, IN (Caroline and Peggy)
Advent gifts in the morning at May Britt’s Thanks for a lovely weekend, May Britt – I am already looking forward to next time!
Advent lights and a taste of the different Christmas cookies with my husband in the evening was nice too.
We light three candles tonight
For longing, hope and joy.
They stands there shining by themselves
and we who present are
We light three candles tonight
for longing, hope and joy.
Hanne
Så flinke! Ser ut til å være mye godt fra bakst :-)

ReplyDeletewhat fun to do baking together. I have yet to start mine - it will be a small holiday gathering for us so I need to watch it and not make too much or we will really need to exercise every day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to do your Christmas baking. Looks like it was a peaceful weekend together.
