Stonefields quilt - more blocks - and hitting a Bingo

It is fun to work Bingo style - picking blocks here and there,
and it is like a prize to hit a true Bingo :-)
Here is Bingo on month no. 2  (above) + close-ups of the latest finished blocks below.

 

Yesterday I learned that Coriene, from whom I purchased my Stonefields pattern won the Viewers Choice prize + 2nd prize in the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham with The Stonefields Quilt this year made by her + machine quilted by Kay Bell! How great!

Congratulations Coriene + Kay - I am so proud of you!
Your quilt is so lovely and a great inspiration to me :-)

The Stonefields quilt block passion

If you have known me for a while, you will know that block based quilts makes my heart sing :-)
It is my passion, my drive, my kind of fun!

The Stonefields Quilt is a 10 month BOM, and I had been drooling over it for a while before I took the step and ordered it from Amaryllis Lifestyle in the Netherlands.
Thank you Coriene, for excellent service and friendly mails - very much appreciated! :-)

I am doing this quilt in my usual whimsical way - picking blocks here and there and using my most beloved fabric treasures.

I love thumbing the patterns and choosing what blocks to do next!

More Stonefields Quilt blocks and another Bingo

I  have hit another Bingo with my Stonefields Quilt blocks - month no. 8 is done!

Hand piecing looks good from both sides - and it is a pleasure to iron when the the block is done :-)
I love to use all methods in a quilt - and I have no objections about mixing hand and machine piecing in the same quilt.

Every time I hit a Bingo I put those blocks together in a zip lock bag

Then I put the zip lock bags together with the corresponding pattern in a see through box + hexagon flowers for the borders in piles of 10 with a clip on.

 

Above is the box I keep on my desk, with random finished blocks and hexie flowers + patterns. This system makes it easy for me to find blocks to do and keep motivation up :-)

The Stonefields quilt progress

It has been a cold and wet summer - and I have spent a lot of time in Quilt Corner.

The cold weather and this stiff body is not coming along to well.
I am happy we spent time in Turkey in June, and I am already saving for next year!

I have been working steadily on my Stonefields quilt though, and it is growing blocks by block.

I have it a Bingo on Month 1.
Working Bingo style like I like it the best is fun and I enjoy picking what block to do next.

The Stonefields quilt - some group photos

3 weeks ago, I found that it was time to spread the finished blocks out, to get a colour feel of what I am doing :-)

Never a dull moment!

I am never bored, and I wish I could have more hours to a day -
so many blocks to make, so many lovely patterns to use, so many quilty dreams!

I am doing the blocks of this quilt in no particular order, bingo style, just like i love it the best!
Whatever block catching my eyes is the block of the day.

 

 

I try my very best to work from fabric collection 99 % of the time,
and this was a 1 % moment, as I needed some fabric inspiration last week - a nice bundle of fat 8's from my local shop Trådsnella :-)

Speaking of shops  - Lappemakeriet in Norway now carry the Block Of the Month patterns for The Stonefields Quilt, in case you live in Norway, want to shop locally, and  want to be quilt block crazy with me too.
No affiliation - I just know they are a nice shop and have just started this BOM program. 
The more quilters having fun around the globe, the merrier :-)
