Friday blocks

The first block I had to do twice.
I spilled coffee on it, and when I rinsed it, first one of the reds bled, and I had to wash it to get the red out.
It worked, but the block looked all wonky even if I ironed it.
I prewash all my fabrics, in case you wonder :-)
I guess the coffee stain would set if I left the block un-rinsed.
I like the look of the new block better anyway :-)

The second block is mirror imaged, but I decided to keep it like that - it reflects these past days - and in the long run - who can tell ?

BTW - if you know the book Dear Hannah - a Dear Jane "sister", you have seen the star block before.
In the book it is also a blue, white and red DH quilt, made by European Janes, and guess who made this specific block in that quilt ?
Yup, yours truly :-)

Love love love the colours of your NI. I own the NI book, but didn't start making it yet. Are you machinepiecing the blocks? They look very accurate, which I'm unable to do on the machine. I intend to handpiece and when I plan 1 block a month, it'll take me over 8 years *sigh*

  4. Jøss så masse flotte røde blokker - så det er det du har jobba med i det siste. - hm - glad jeg fikk en flat pakke i år - så jeg ikke risikerer å pakke opp en katt på julaften

  5. The blocks are just lovely Hanne, you must have so many of them made now.
I think I'll have to make this quilt some day. I love your red and white colourway.
