Wednesday afternoon

8 more blocks to go!

I love making sampler blocks and I love the quilts from the Civil War era.
My next project will be from this book - The Civil War Diary Quilt, by Rosemary Youngs.

I like to piece blocks from my stash and I love the combination of Civil War repros and Japanese fabrics.
I am contemplating making this quilt a lap quilt, not the full size - these blocks are also 6".
From the top of my head I am thinking about using pinks and browns, using the same white fabric I have used for my NI quilt and my DJ quilt.

I will let the book and the fabrics stay here on my desk, as a motivator for getting the NI top finished and mailed off for machine quilting :-)

  3. Så flink og strukturert du er Hanne. Ikke starte på noe nytt før du er ferdig, jeg er imponert. Det skal bli spennende både å se din NI ferdig og følge deg igjennom ditt neste prosjekt.

  6. You are so tenacious! How many blocks are in this little gem? I am in awe of you. All I accomplished today was a string top. It's just mindless sewing while watching T.V. I can't wait to see your finished top!

  10. The pinks and browns look great. I've ordered this book but don't know if I'm going to commit to making the quilt yet. I've been wanting to do a sampler though and this one might be the one that gets me going.
