and soon it is the final countdown :-)
The block to the right has 229 pieces according to the book, and as you see, the block is only 6" finished.
The last block is under construction, by hand.
I have done nearly all the blocks by machine through this quilt, but these stars are small and easier to do by hand.
I had tomorrow, Thursday, as my personal deadline, but I see I have to push the deadline a day or two - Friday, hopefully!
In case you wonder - no, I am not tired of red and white, but I am so ready for other projects :-)
Unbelievable, so many pieces!ReplyDelete
oh Hanne so close........so exciting but sad also and there will be no more of these great red blocks........enjoy stitching your last block........ReplyDelete
Oh....I do not think I will start this NI quilt.ReplyDelete
You soon reached your goal!!!! Jippiiiii!!!!!!
Wow - what patience and dedication you've had to this quilt. It is beautiful and I'm wondering whether you'll feel sad once it's completed? Will you feel the need to take a break and reflect on it as something to move on from? And one more question - will you hand quilt it?ReplyDelete
Incredible! You are going to reach your goal!ReplyDelete
Jeg er kjempeimponert over at du har orket.Det skal bli spennende å se den ferdig.ReplyDelete

Great work Hanne. I count the triangles on the block on the right and realised they only have a1/2" side. How can you sew such tiny pieces????ReplyDelete

I cannot imagine ever doing that block! It looks fabulous, but tiny isn't me. You must have tons of patience! It's so thrilling that you are almost finished, and so close to on schedule!ReplyDelete
Your nearly insance quilt is coming along nicely. When will I have time to make one (lol). As you know I bought the book! It amazes me how quickly you came so far. Can't wait to see the finished project.ReplyDelete
Wow for et mesterverk Hanne! Du er helt utrolig. Denne må du få laget en scrapbook av hele historien med bilde av quilteren og teppet i maskinen over there.ReplyDelete
Hanne I am in awe!!! So many pieces in such a small block. What patience you must have. Congratulations on getting your top finished. It must be hard letting it go in the post. I'll bet you will be anxious for it to be returned safe and sound to you. It is a beautiful work of art and talent. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. Hugs EllyReplyDelete
