I have had this on my to do list for a long time - cleaning the thimble display and thimbles.
Today was the day.
DH took the shelf down from the wall and all that was in it was picked out.
This is an antique printers drawer and I had to be careful not to make it wet - if not, I could have rinsed it in the garden with the hose. Very tempting ;-)
Some knick knack without sentimental value got sorted out and tossed, and the rest went back on the shelf.
Thimble count is 156 on the shelf + one on my mobile phone :-)
We are having the warmest days in nearly 30 years - about 30 C during the days for more than a week.
Nothing is like a serving of strawberries, sugar and cream on a warm day :-)
Hanne

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely collection. Hmm, looks like you`re gonna need another shelf soon...
ReplyDeleteHanne lovely display of thimbles and it has been very cold here....I think you have the better weather.
ReplyDeleteHey Hanne! I used to work for a newspaper that was also a commercial printing business and when I left, they let me take one of the old linotype drawers with me - it's still stored waiting for me to clean it up a bit and find just the right place for it! One day!! :0) Will trade weathe with you - anything between 25 and 35 suits me fine - it's been between 3 and 17 here Brrrr!! At least it doesn't snow! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS
ReplyDeleteI use a wood printer's drawer like you do for my thimble collection.
