We did not have any family photos on the walls when I grew up, but I have, and these two, new to my home, are definitively going up on the wall :-)
To the left is yours truly, 4 years old, on vacation at my favourite aunt's, up on the west coast.
I still love raspberries very much, like I did back then.
You can see I had a great time picking them :-)
The photo was in the local newspaper that summer.
To the right is my handsome grandfather, around 18-20 years old.
He was born in 1910, hundred years ago.
It is now 24 years since he passed away.
I have many great memories about my grandfather - I love him dearly!
He was a rock in my life, not by many words but by the way he was.
There was always a bed in my grandfather's house for me.
I had my Christmas DJ back from Merete yesterday, and it looks gorgeous !!!
Just look at this beautiful machine quilting :-)
I finished 2 more blocks for my Svennebrevet BOM today - 1 more to go.
The sashing fabric and the border fabric have been washed, and is ready to use as soon as the last block is done.
My goal is to have the top done on Saturday :-)
Hanne
Helsing Jofrid
ReplyDeleteJule-jane'n ble flott - godt jobba begge to.
Må bare beundre deg for alt du klarer å trylle fram.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! I love the Christmas quilt, so pretty, and the quilting is perfectly suited to it. Quite nice to have a 'nibble' at DJ and produce something like this. Well done. The photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet photo of you Hanne and of your Grandpa too!
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas DJ quilt and the quilting is just lovely.
I'm excited to see your blocks all sashed into a quilt.
Christmas Dear Jane ser unik vakker ut, inkludert kviltingen.
ReplyDeleteOh, Hanne, the Christmas quilt is gorgeous! And the quilting is perfect. Your friend Merete does beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteDid you use the same 3 colors for all your blocks? And was there some significance in the blocks your chose? I really like it.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas DJ IS gorgeous Hanne!
ReplyDeletehi Hanne, I love your Christmas DJ, the quilting is fantastic!!! I'm wishing a nice weekend: Brigitte, back in Germany now
ReplyDeleteTeppet ble utrolig lekkert. Nydelig quiltet også - det gjør utrolig mye. Ønsker deg en god helg :-)
ReplyDeleteHello dear Hanne, Your photos are very endearing and quilt blocks lovely. I see you visited my blog and YES, you may come sew with me. I hope when you come to the retreat, you will have time to come over and we will make some of that Champagne Rose Sorbet if you like. I am glad to see you back and posting. Cathy
