Here, at Rebecca's, the hours can pass without me noticing :-)
Antique quilts, new Amish quilts, quilt blocks, wonderful tree work, homemade jam - all the best from the best, for me (and y0u) to enjoy.
I have this feathered star quilt on my mind!
This basket quilt is from about 1890
Note the machine appliqued (!) handle
Quilts and lovely wood work - a great combination!
Rebecca is telling about this gorgeous quilt
- and my friend Deb buys it !
The quilt will have a good home from now :-)
I do have a soft spot for baskets!
Rebecca and her father outside the shop. The beautiful sign is his work.
I also had the pleasure of attending Rebecca's speech on Amish quilts, without camera in hand.
I learned a lot about Amish quilts, and am eager to learn more :-)
Hanne

ReplyDeleteHanne, these photo's are absolutely fabulous, I have enjoyed them all, such beautiful quilts. Oh, how I would love to go there one day. I adore those Amish buggies! Ann ~ Australia

ReplyDeleteHanne, so many wonderful pics!
ReplyDeleteWhat an experience this must have been! I'm so envious!! LOL!
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit! I live about 40 minutes from Shipshe and love Yoder's and Lolly's. Next time you're coming let me know! Marianne
ReplyDeleteHanne,
ReplyDeleteIsn't this just the greatest shop, with the greatest proprietors? The best of all, to me, is Rebecca's darling mother. She is just the cutest, sweetest thing!
It was so much fun to spend time with you in Shipshewana. I hope you are practicing your back basting! The Hearts and Gizzards quilt is happy at my house...and we are happy to have it! What a beautiful quilt that is.
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely quilts!
