As you see, I can not stick to my to do list - again :-)
This quilt has also been on my WISP list (Work In Slow Progress) and now it is done.
I am aiming at making 12 care quilts this year, all from fabric collection, and this is # 1.
I have used 2,5" strips.
I am piecing the backings too. Fast and easy :-)
Since I moved all my fabrics, tools and books into one room it has been quite stuffed………
It feels like making 10 square meters of stuff fit into a 7 square meters room - a bit like squeezing tooth paste back into the tube….
I bet you can see why I will be making the care quilts from fabric collection :-)
Fondly sorting and folding as I use really helps though :-)
I can see more care quilts with yellow in the near future. I have 2 big and 2 small boxes on the lower shelf with yellow fabrics.
Care quilt # 2 done this weekend.
I used to love mustard yellow, in case you wondered ;-)
Now they make nice backings.
2 care quilts done, 10 to go - I know I can make it!
In between, I am enjoying my Life Is Beautiful stitchery.
I am aiming at a finish by the end of this year, so I am not speeding it :-)
Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in. Bill Bradley
Hanne
Hanne your quilt is great; the purple just makes it pop. I plan to use from my stash and make scrap quilts this year. I hope we all have a lot of UFO finishes in 2011.
ReplyDeleteYou did great in your sewing corner this weekend. Care quilts are a great way to attack the fabric stash. I really have to make some too.
Blir ihvertfall noen glade unger her.
ReplyDeleteFLott jobbings for teppeaksjonen.
ReplyDeleteHello Hanne,
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to see the way you tackle your lists of things to do.
As you plan to make 12 care quilts this year, would you consider allocating some of them to a school in Tanzania for children from the poorest of poor families?
This amazing school provides free education to 1500 children, and provides boarding facilities for the older children.
If you would like to make quilts for this school, I would be happy to pay for the postage to Tanzania.
The school is the School of St Jude in Arusha, Tanzania, run by the amazing Gemma Sisia, an Australian woman.
You can find out more about them at: www.schoolofstjude.co.tz.
Just a thought, I know there are so many needy projects.
Warm wishes,
Gillian
Who knows, we might event get other quilters to join in?
