I changed my mind :-)

P1070431

I could not do it - English Paper Piecing preparation is not for me!
So much folding and basting or gluing. I do not like it much and with my hands it takes forever.

P1070434

As soon as the decision was made, I undid the prep work I had already done, pressed and draw sewing lines like I like them.

P1070436

The midst of the star comes out so nice and crisp when doing ordinary hand sewing, and pressing the back side is fun :-)

I did try, didn't I ? :-))

  1. Thanks for being honest... I'm afraid to start English paper piecing b/c I know I will not have the patience... and as your quote states: "...you might as well be happy!"

  2. It is comforting to do things the tried and true way.

  4. I've done English Paper Piecing with hexagons but I'm with you on these diamonds, much easier to piece by hand without the papers.

  9. Hanne, have you tried inklingo to print your stitching lines?

  11. Det er det som er så bra - at man kan velge den teknikken man trives best med. Mange veier fører til Rom :)Kos deg med stjerner sydd på streken, de blir virkelig vakre!

  15. Yes, I have success when I just sew along the pencil lines. When that works well, why would you go to the trouble of all the business with paper shapes?

Kjekt! ;o))

  18. Oh it makes me so happy to hear you say that. I sometimes feel that I should be able to do all types of quilting and really I don't need to do I? It is a lovely block. Love your quote!

  19. We quilt because we enjoy it and it makes us happy, so it makes no sense to do something that becomes painful or isn't fun! Good for you to recognize that and make the change.
