I plan, I pick projects, I take photos, I make to do lists, and then……..
………. I end up working on something totally different………. I guess it never happens to you ?? …….or what ?? :-)
This little stitchery from the cute Bareroots book I started before Christmas. It just did not make it into the gift box this year. It is intended for a pin cushion, so it will be done shortly.
It was not on my to do list for the week though…………
I must admit I was a bit embarrassed by not working on my to do list, so I worked on the kit for the ladybug pin cushion + drawstring bag for a couple of evenings. I changed the mini yo-yos called for in the pattern with black wool felt circles. It turned out cute in the end.
I have later given the pattern to a friend who is making things with her granddaughter. I hope they will enjoy to make ladybugs :-)
The Christmas Heart table cloth top is done too, tonight :-)
It turned out much bigger than I expected from the beginning, 51" square.
If I use it on my coffee table the corner tips will touch the floor.
What I loved most about this project are the 4 different corner heart stitcheries, which I most certainly will use again in other projects.
I must admit I am not one for mystery BOMs really, as I like to plan more ahead. This one I bought as a kit, and even if it is very coordinated, I am not to happy with the colour balance in the finished top.
One can hardly please all I guess :-) Maybe it helps if I put on a deep red binding ?
Last year I gave up swaps, this year I am cutting back on BOMs.
I am doing the ones that I have going and will keep on having the one from Lappemakeriet - I love the style, the kits and all :-)
The top is cat approved though :-)

i just love your Christmas Heart cloth. and just had to tell you so. perhaps the color balance could be fixed by switching out the white inner space with the more colorful squares. love the stitching squares.
ReplyDeleteOh Hanne I end up working on different projects than intended all of the time....lol It's what I call my quilter's ADD! :0)
ReplyDeleteI the heart table topper is very pretty and yes I do think a red binding will do the trick.
I agree a red border will help bring out all the red. The might help the flowers on the edge to not look so pink.
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA....sorry for laughing, but I do recognize myself. I have already got sidetracked a bit from my focus list. But guess what....we are having fun and then it is allowed.
ReplyDeleteHeisan ;)

I think a wide red binding will balance it up beautifully.

ReplyDeleteNydelg duk:o)
Oh hanne me too - I try to be so good, organising my projects then WHOOOPS - another new pattern jumps out at me and I start something completely different!! I love your tablecloth - guess what - mine is still unfinished hehe!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to follow a list when so many besutiful quilts and projects call us. I love your finishes!

Your Christmas Hearts tablecloth is lovely. I think a dark red binding would be nice. Also love your "mouse" mug rug. And, I sometimes make a blog post and then find something else that looks more fun to work on.....
ReplyDeleteHello from Germany,
ReplyDeleteI made this christmas table cloth, too. However I preferred more red fabrics. I think a red binding would work very well.
kind regards,
