Charging the batteries

P1000786The batteries still do not take charging like they used to do before I had my surgery.
Maybe that is the new normal?
Anyway – I am adjusting my activities to what energy I have and I am doing fine Smilefjes
My cleaning for Christmas is more or less done – my Christmas baking is done – my gift buying and making is more or less done too.

I had a wonderful time this morning enjoying my English paper piecing and the stitchery for Cornelian quilt, accompanied by coffee + Christmas music on the computer.

I absolutely love to compose my own “kits” from my fabric collection, and it is a joy to shop with purpose. These blue fabrics are a mix of what I had from before and what I bought with purpose in Shipshewana and Rome, IN. Does not get much better than that!

Have you ever tried this wonder “tool” – Dritz Fray Check ?
After I had finished today’s sewing I noticed a thread pull that I could not just pull in.
With the help of a needle and some thin thread I was able to hide the thread in the batting and to secure it I dabbed a small drop of Fray Check.
On the photo you can still see a little wet drop on the grey fabric. Now, when it has dried, the repair is absolutely invisible. Isn’t that great!
I have had a bottle of this stuff for years, and when I came across it in Shipshewana, I just had to buy a new one.

2 gift finishes for today:

One toiletry purse for my grand-nephew (2 years old)  and one for my grand-niece (5 years old)
I had fun making these, and I hope they will enjoy them when they go for sleepovers at grandma and grandpa’s or on scout camps with their lovely parents.
