In May I decided that this project deserved to be finished over the summer - and now it is :-)
If you are in to Dear Jane / Jane Stickle inspired quilts, you will recognize the blocks.
The blocks are 4,5" finished and they are a result of a 1 to 1 swap with a dear friend many years ago. We decided from month to month which 2 different blocks to make each - 1 to keep and 1 to send over the big ocean. The theme was Autumn.
With the spacer plain blocks this can be a small lap quilt or just for decoration.
I have this quilt hanging over the back of a chair in my dining area, so I see it and enjoy it every day. I am not a very autumn colour girl, but the overall feeling of this quilt and what it means to me makes me smile!
Daily threads do make a difference :-)
I will dig out another slow project shortly!
Sewing down bindings are nice outdoor work - when the weather is good.
A glass of rosé and fresh strawberries just added to the moment :-)

ReplyDeleteA very nice adaptation of Jane. I think I should quit while I'm ahead with mine. It does look like a delightful binding moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt ! Good to know it is being displayed so everyone can enjoy it each day. That glass of wine and strawberries look yummy. Hope you are well.

Dear Hanna,
ReplyDeletethe little DJ blocks are just adorable and what a nice idea to have made them with a swap partner.
You are just giving me ideas, a glass of rose, but I don't have a quilt to bind yet. Still working on the quilting.
Greetings,
Sylvia
What a beautiful quilting you have done on this quilt. I admire your handquilting. It's always nice to finish on old project and I'm looking forward to see the next one.
