Plus quilt fun

The plus quilt I started 2 weeks ago is done and I am doing a happy dance!

The process was fun - from picking the fabrics from stash, cutting, making blocks, mixing the Japanese homespuns with the other fabrics, cutting my beloved shirting fabrics, and see how it all came together just like I wanted it to do.

I did not have a pattern for my quilt, even if there are a lot of free patterns out there.
I wanted less space between my pluses than what I have seen around, and I wanted to use smaller cuts of strips than what I have seen. I had a plan even if I made it up as I went along.
Being part of a plusquilt-sewalong just added to the fun.

The quilt measures 46" by 70" and will be a gift for a special plus person I know.

Machine quilted by Merete Ellingsen.

This is not my last plus quilt - promise!

At times it felt like working on a big jig saw puzzle.

I have never saved empty spools before, but decided that it will be a fun thing to do for 2016.
I wonder how many spools I will empty?

* Wishing you a lovely creative day *
