Coffee Latte quilt

Entirely from fabric collection, mostly scraps - it made a dent in my browns.
Here are old fabrics and new fabrics in a good mix - like old Debbie Mumm and new CW repros, some Thimbleberries, batiks and others.
All can be successfully mixed in a scrap quilt.
Using old friends and new favourites in the same quilt is fun :-)

The blocks are 10", the squares cut 3" and 5,5".

I am looking forward to gift wrap the quilt and give it to it's new owner :-)

Snoopy dancing :-)

The quilt is done!!
I just put the last stitch in the binding, and am done in good time before Saturday.

I will put the quilt in the washing machine tomorrow morning and will take photos after it is ready to be given away. When the quilt is in the washing machine I can make the label and prep a stitchery - just for enjoyment and fun :-)

Tuesday plans

It takes a blogger to go out at 7 am to catch a ray of sun on the remnants of the hollyhocks just because the colours goes so well with the quilt under work, right? :-)

I heard on the radio yesterday that earth tones and browns are The Hot colours in decorating this season.
I guess this quilt is very right then - the recipient is very into home decorating :-)

As you can see the quilt is now ready for machine quilting. It will be straight seams, so I will put the accu feed foot on the Janome.

I hope to be able to finish the machine quilting today. Maybe even start working on the binding. I hope to be able to cut it, join the lengths and maybe sew it on by machine so I can start doing the hand sewing tomorrow.

Monday morning - plans for the day

Good morning to you :-)

Here you see what will keep me busy today - joining these blocks and work at good speed to finish the top and piece the backing.
I took this photo to see how the quilt will look and found 2 blocks turned wrong - now corrected.
The light is not very good right now so the photo is not to good.
I am looking forward to be able to take a better photo when the top is done.
I am a bit behind schedule as a nice visit took most of yesterday. If I can join the blocks, put on a narrow border and piece the backing during the day - before and after going for physiotherapy exercise and massage - I hope DH can help me spray baste the quilt in the evening.
