Back home - and stuck at home

IMG_a4b3e3e05400bf3a0a061ad0c3e5ddd4

Puerto de Mogan was great, coming home on Monday night was great too, and I had a lot of plans for a busy machine sewing time in Quilt Corner for the next weeks.
Quilts, dresses and more……

Unfortunately, I had a bad fall, at home, the day
before yesterday…..
It was a fall with a bad twist of my foot and a very unfortunate landing - and voila, visit to hospital and pink cast for at least 5 weeks.
I am going in for a new x-ray next Friday, so I have my fingers crossed I will not need surgery on the broken bone in my foot. The surgeon said he has never seen a fracture like mine - good? or not so good?

I am happy my Quilt Corner can provide Plan B too - so from the original plan of a lot of sewing machine work, to hand piecing, English paper piecing, stitchery and some knitting.

A quirky one for my Norwegian friends:
En quilter/sydame er aldri (t)rådløs!  ;-)

Stay on your feet, wherever you are :-)

I should have……..

P1000378I should have blogged a lot, but I did not.
I should have made a lot of things, but I did not.
I chose to focus on the smaller, more personal and private things in life while waiting for a very needed surgery.

2013-10-17 08.49.22I do not think pain does you any good in any way – it certainly does not strengthen your spine or make you more grateful for anything, as I have heard someone say.
It does not make you more brave either, in case you wondered!
It drains your batteries for one…. and for two and for three.

P1000381I always aim at putting something good in to every day, regardless of what else is going on!
I love (and need) my feel good moments, when I can enjoy my coffee and my hand piecing and stitchery.
I have not got so much done lately, but I brought both to hospital last week, and I pieced through my pre-op waiting hours, which went fairly fast that way.
This week I have slept most of the time, and now, finally, after months of not feeling to good, I feel my batteries are taking charging again!

I have plans – for many good days ahead, but I am taking it slow, so my body can heal and my head can keep up after post-op fog brain.

I have a back log of photos and things to tell from the last weeks – I will be back shortly :-)’

embrace the current season

Just 4 fun, just because

P1000320I think I need a new project like I need a hole in the head, but I do need some airing out,
so maybe a hole in the head is not to bad after all ;-)

P1000317I have started this quilt once before, or maybe it is 2 times, but it did not really catch, due to colour choices (I think).

P1000316This time, a complete different colour choice!

P1000321I am just prepping blocks for now,

P1000322putting the finished pieces in small zip lock bags marked with block numbers

P1000323perfect for travels and sewing moments outside the home :-)

P1000324I have tried out a new way of organizing this project – a tray from Ikea is now filled with the fabrics I use, the templates and right now the finished kits ready to sew.
