Something always happens..........

Something always happens when I am on a short time schedule.
It is more a rule than an exception, and I guess you know all about it too ;-)
My attention was needed on other arenas,
as it the most typical when I don't have much time,
and when I came around to cut the blocks to size I cut one off center.
It was one of the small blocks, so it can be redone without to much work.
Then, when I came around to start the sashing I got the bright idea of doing some math,
and could conclude I am a couple of inches short of the fabric I wanted to use, which is not available anymore.
Good for me I did the math first, and not started sewing strip sets and coming out to short having done a lot of the sewing and joining ! A true bright moment :-)

The class reunion is at a quilt shop, so I can find another fabric today,
and I will bring my blocks and a couple of photos of the layout.

I want to finish this quilt, as a daily thread project.
I have renamed it to Watermelon Quilt.
Starboat was the name given by the teacher, named from a song.
With my colours it reminds me more of watermelon.

Time to pack the bag and go to the reunion !

  1. How good it is to know that I am not alone in forgetting the Math from time to time.

I do find Hanne, that when that happens the next idea is even better than the first one.

    Ah the joys of creativity.
