Another sandwiched quilt to work on during the weekend !
DH is going away this weekend, leaving tomorrow,
and you can see what I have planned - quilting as much as I can on this quilt and on Judy's challenge.
The blocks on this quilt are 10" finished and done with the TriRecs tool.
I have made 12 blocks and joined the quilt since yesterday morning.
This is an Ufo and it is good to have it done.
I have also put away the yellow and red fabrics and decluttered my sewing table :-)
When I need a break from big arm movements I will do the current round on the crazy quilt RR and play more with Tonya's letters.
I am doing the Happy Dance for you since I know you were struggling with getting it to this point! Good for you--cute quilt.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to figure out where I had seen this quilt block--someone's blog or where? Of course! My family's guestroom---Jan has a little one done in 30's repros on the wall. Someone had made it for her or she had gotten it as a door prize or something---it was of a grouping of 4 small wallhangings. I have seen the pattern on the EZ Wrights website and probably have it printed off--the makers of that Tri-Recs you spoke of.
How on earth do you make time to sew all you have done lately. I am so envious. I want to sew tooooooo :( This weekend I will!!!!! I hope so. Idar (my boyfriend) has to buy a lot of newspapers to read in while I am sewing. The new quilt is georgius.
ReplyDeleteI have a trirec to but have never used it. Hmmmmm....I have a lot of things for my quilting I never have used.
Wow, that looks really great! I love the colors and the quilt has so much movement!
ReplyDeleteI love the new quilt...and the use of string pieced yellows... Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHanne, that is gorgeous- the string traingles are realllllly striking!
ReplyDeleteOh what happy colors! And the strings were absolutely an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteJeanne :)
I love it! I sent my mom a picture with heavy hints about how Santa might need to bring a tri/recs tool! Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt - the yellows and reds are so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteOh Hanne, I LOVE this one! But then I lvoe those colors together.
ReplyDeletewhat a great quilt! And the feeling of having a UFO done...priceless!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Hanne. I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteYou have certainly been busy. I like the colors you have chosen for this quilt. Hope you will get plenty of quilting done this weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt is super great Hanne - good for you for getting it to this point. I too am chugging along on my UFO's/WIP's. It is nice to know I have company! Love you colors!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Evelyn
This is one cute quilt! It looks like a scrap buster! Well done. Enjoy your quiet time alone this weekend--quilting!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great - I've already printed out the blocks you had posted earlier. I have the Tri Recs tools but can't even remember what I intended to make with them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking quilt. I am very, very fond of yellow and red so it really speaks to me.
ReplyDeletelooks great Hanne. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of this quilt. It has that string quilt look without using millions of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your sewing weekend.
I love that red and yellow combinations & NEVER would have thought to put them together.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely quilt. You are a wonder.
ReplyDeleteYou are really a prolific quilter nowadays. I wish I could say the same about me, since I have lots of time....
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt!
Inga
Hanne, it is such an inspiration the way you turn scraps into wonderful quilts. Your sunshine quilt inspired me to start with some Diamond in Square blocks I had lying on the bottom of a drawer. Together with other orphane blocks and different scraps I made the Jungle quilt. I finished it today and will blog about the result soon. Of course it is totally different from what you make, but all the same; Thanks alot for being my inpriation!
ReplyDeleteI really like this quilt - very pretty!
