Finally I have got a date, by snail mail, today, for my scheduled colostomy - 29. January.
It is a final, irreversible surgery, to alter my life, to the better :-)
It is a final, irreversible surgery, to alter my life, to the better :-)
I have been sick for a long time, 18 months, and I have tried all possible treatments with no success or positive outcome.
I have been housebound since mid May 2006 and I am so much looking forward to a new start!
I have been housebound since mid May 2006 and I am so much looking forward to a new start!
I am crossing my fingers that no flu or other viruses will skew my date!
I have so many things to look forward too - go outside my house without a lot of planning, short notice shopping, cinemas visits, meals and fun with friends and family, travelling, travelling and more travelling :-)
I am looking forward to blog more quilting, more quilting inspiration, nature photos, travel photos + + +
Thanks and more thanks to all of you who have brightened my days through this long time - I appreciate you all very much!
I must admit I am scared stiff too, but I will come through with a smile, sharp quilting needles and threads with no tangles in the end :-)
hanne, i am sooo happy for you. we will be with you before, during and after surgery. is okay to be scared. just think of all the things you'll be able to do. i am just so happy for you. patti in florida
ReplyDeleteFinally you will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding your protracted illness. You have been waiting for this word---a big step but apparently necessary if other treatments have failed to provide any relief for you.
ReplyDeleteYou did great on meeting your recent goals. Now to line up some things that you can do during the recovery phase? Hope this will go as the verification thing is the dreaded red X---ah tricked it by typing any old thing
Hanne!! I am so excited that you now have a surgery date. I will write your name on my calendar and will remember you in prayer that day.
ReplyDeleteStay healthy...only 24 days away!
Good luch on the surgery....you sound very upbeat and ready to go!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to start the New Year! You certainly have the right attitude and I'll be praying that you stay 100% healthy until your surgery date. How very exciting for you to be able to look forward to leading a normal life again. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteAs others have said - you're attitude is great so you'll do great. I'm so happy to hear that this will be over soon for you and you can get back a normal type of life.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that you have a date for surgery. It is some much better to have something known rather than unknown. I wish you the best of luck with the surgery and I will say a prayer that it all goes well.
ReplyDeleteWrap yourself up in cottonwool and stay well till the 29th. I hope all goes well and you are up and at 'em in no time.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes, Jodie
Finally a date for the surgery. I will cross my fingers and toes that you will stay flu free until you surgery. The best wishes fromme. And a big big hug.
ReplyDeletebest wishes to you for your surgery Hanne.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the surgery.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a surgery date. I will keep you in my prayers throughout the whole process.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that you have a date. The anticipation is so much worse than the reality. You will stay in my prayers and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLine up some QDs that you can stitch while you recover.
I looked at your Nearly Insane piece that became a table cloth. Awesome!
Congratulations on the date and finally getting some relief. I pray for the best.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear you have a date for surgery. It will be wonderful for you to have more freedom after it is all over.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear you finally have a date set. Now you can get planning on projects to take to do in hospital (in case you feel up to a little stitching) and stuff already prepared so you can do mindless stitching when you're in the early stages of recovery. Then the world will be your oyster :)
ReplyDeleteHi Hanne! I know you've been waiting for that surgery date for a LONG time! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers ... just think, you'll be getting BETTER already this time next month!
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Jeanne
I enjoy looking at your stitcheries and wish you well with your op. My husband had an ileostomy about 17 years ago and it has made all the difference in his and our life.
ReplyDeleteGood luck
You know how glad I am for you, Hanne... But I wished to tell you once more on your blog.... LOL
ReplyDeleteAll the best, dear !
Biiig hugs & smiles,
NADINE.
18 months is WAY too long to have have your life put on hold! I'm so happy you have a surgery date. (((HUGS))) and prayers going out to you each and every day until you're back to 100% again.
ReplyDeleteHanne, you certainly will be in my prayers. I don't know the all about your condition but you must be a real trooper. May the surgery go well and the recovery quickly. I look forward to future posts from you.
ReplyDeleteThrilled to hear this good news from you! I'm sure you are scared - that is normal. We will all be sending positive thoughts and prayers your way to guide the surgeon's hands - I know you'll be just fine. What a wonderful new life is awaiting you!

I will be sending positive thougths and prayers your way for a good outcome. Hope the surgery accomplishes everything you want.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your surgery. It is a life altering surgery, but in your care it seems the alterations will be positive ones, allowing your freedom and health you have missed for some time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you recover and learn to manage your new life.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone, good lucky and you are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's a relief to finally have it scheduled - now just a few more weeks to wait.
ReplyDeleteThat gives you time to plan some projects for your recovery. I made a quilt top before one of my surgeries and then hand quilted it while I was waiting to feel well enough to be back working at my machine.
Gratulerer med endelig en dato for et "lettere" liv :-)
ReplyDeleteFlagget er heist til topps her siden dette er hva du ønsker deg!
So glad you got your date. Let me know if I can do anything for you!

ReplyDeleteBest of everything to you...you will be in all of our prayers.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the surgery - this is so commonplace today, you'll have no trouble, I'm sure, but I would be scared, too. It will be so fabulous to be able to go out with your friends again!
ReplyDeleteYAY, we'll keep you in our thoughts as the surgery day approaches!
ReplyDeleteHow great that you finally have a date - I know you have been anxiously waiting for this news! I will echo all the good wishes you have already received from everyone.
