Sightseeing downtown Oslo

This is the back side of The Royal Castle in Oslo, seen from The Queen Park.

And what was I doing there on this lovely crisp autumn day ?
Those of you known in the area know there is a quilt shop only minutes behind me :-)

And what was I doing downtown Oslo, our capital, in the first place ?
I have attended a health related meeting at the big SAS hotel, only minutes away from The Royal Castle, and again near the quilt shop.

I have not visited the quilt shop there for more than a year and it was a pleasant visit.
I bought some patterns ( Stitchery - surprised - not, I guess ? :-) )
and a ruler.
No fabrics, no fabrics, no fabrics - I do have remnants of a backbone somewhere in there, I think LOL.

This photo is actually taken with my cell phone camera and sent directly to blog, as is the photo in the newer post too.
I am surprised how good they are, all things considered.
Can you see the handsome young castle guard by the gate ?

  1. How wonderful it must be to have such a glorious history. Alas, we are such a new country compared to yours.

  2. I'd love to visit the Royal Castle someday. Will we get to see the stitchery patterns you bought or do we have to wait until you make them?
Curious minds want to know. :-)
