The quilt from my fabric collection is done and it was given to my friend for her 50th birthday on Saturday.
It is made all from fabric collection, and the thread and batting came from my collection too.
The blocks are 7.5" finished.
The photo does not do justice to the lovely deep marbled purple batik, so you have to take my word for the lovely effect.
I used it for binding as well, as far as it went - which was nearly all, short of one strip, for which I found a good match with a printed fabric in my fabric collection.
As you see the cat approved of the quilt - both pattern and colours, trying to lay down.
Colour wise the two was a good match too :-)
I hope my friend will enjoy using her quilt as much as I enjoyed making it for her!
Lovely! Two colour quilts are always so eye catching. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely picture. I like the way the quilt drapes - looks very snuggly!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt at all who wouldn't love such a perfect snuggly quilt?
ReplyDeleteA cat approved quilt is always the best :) Love the colours you have used in it.
ReplyDeleteFlott! Skikkelig koselig teppe, som hun sikkert blir glad for å få!
ReplyDeleteLucky friend to receive such a wonderful and cat-approved quilt. No quilt leaves the house here without a cat-approval! I should think of making some logo: Cat-Approved! to stitch on the back of the quilts! When I click on the photo to enlarge I can see the beauty of the purple batik!
ReplyDeleteYour stash quilt looks absoulutely wonderful! Well done! I'm sure your friend will love it!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day! See you tomorrow evening :o)
It looks like your friend's cat is claiming a portion of the quilt for itself. That's always a good sign when you get cat approval, too. It does seem to match the cat colors. VBG
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt! You are a real stashbuster (?), am I right? And thanks for your nice mouse pattern in Norsk Quilteblad!
ReplyDeleteThe cat almost 'disappears' against the quilt! Funny, but a lovely quilt -- lucky friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday quilt. I finished my boxed squares before I left to visit my Mom and assembling the top is on my to do list.
