More Name and Claim

More small projects to finish :-)

You can see the stitchery for the tote is still there, and I promise to work on it tomorrow, for at least one hour.
I am debating with myself what kind of tote I want - I think I know now, and have purchased batting for the project.

The bear heart is for decoration only.
First I filled it with dried lavender and did not put any other filling in.
The smell was nice, but I am sure it would not please me every day, so I changed the lavender for polyester stuffing.
I got the pattern from a dear friend and I have a lovely memory from last summer from our day together, so I hung the heart on the wall next to my computer for now.

The sewing notion heart is filled with bird sand and is a pin cushion really. However, I think it is a bit to heavy to carry around in my new matching sewing bag, so it will stay here at home.
DD2 suggested it will be perfect to weigh down my things when I once again can bring my morning paper and sewing outdoors.
It will absolutely be a while yet, but I am very much looking forward to outdoor sewing :-)

  2. Hello,
I found your blog while searching for a chicken pincushion pattern and am so happy to have found a Norway Quilter! My great grandfather was from Solvorn and I visited there and way down to Arendal (have friends there) in May2004. BEAUTIFUL, not sure how my grandfather could have left...I bought some fabric while there and looked in vain for a Norwegian quilting book or pattern...still have the fabric uncut into. I look forward to reading your blog and seeing more of what quilters do in Norway!

  5. Oh Hanne: I am so looking forward to being able to sit outside to have my morning coffe - with the temperature around -10C this morning, even though it is gloriously sunny - that isn't a possibility!
Your little hearts are lovely - such a sweet idea.
