My friend Ildri is having a small in-her-own-house-quilt-shop where we spent our vacation, and she was hosting a one day quilt class during our stay :-)
What a treat - attending a surprise quilt class during vacation!
Ildri's friend Mia, a quilt shop owner from Sweden, taught the class, Meshwork with bias maker.
If you want to see more photos, go to Mia's website, click on the meshwork photo.
For the class I bought a 3/4" bias maker. I have and have used a 1/4" bias maker from before. It is perfect for Celtic applique.
We had a lovely day at Ildri's, with creativity, laughter, chatter and fun.
Ildri served a lovely lunch, soup with garlic bread, so we kept on from 11 am - 6 pm.
I have more meshwork projects spinning in my head!
I have wanted to try that meshwork ever since I saw it in a magazine...
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of soup was it. (I am SOOOO ready for soup weather.)
Oh...this looks great. Looking forward to see what you will make of those samples :)
ReplyDeleteI was given a quick demonstration of this technique not long ago at the Quilt Fair. I loved it, it is so effective. Maybe something to try in the future!!

Lovely... this is something I’ve been wanting to try for awhile. I would love to find this book on meshwork. Does anyone know where to find and buy it, I would appreciate any help that you could give... I don’t even care if it is use, just that its in fairly good shape. Thanks!
