I hope to add more blocks through the day :-)
One does not have to buy a BOM from a shop to have a monthly project.
This is a pattern with 9 blocks + borders from Gail Pan.
Add your own fabrics and maybe a friend to work with,
and I can promise you that you will have fun, just like me!
I have a lot of thoughts on BOMs from shops near and far.
But that is food thoughts and for another post shortly, but not today, as now it is time to put the nose to the grindstone and work more on this beauty :-)

New priority projects :-)
It works so well for me to pick priority projects, so I will keep on keeping on with that for some more time :-)
One for machine sewing - my Christmas Elves quilt.
All the stitchery is done.
My friend Bente and I have been doing this 9 block quilt as a BOM this year, starting in January, so it is very appropriate to finish it in September.
Off course we have some new plans for October :-)
One for hand work - my Sjømann (Seaman) BOM from Lappemakeriet.
I am setting my goals high, sort of, and want to see what a week of focus can bring to these two projects.
Never a dull moment in my sewing corner :-)
PS. I have bought the Christmas Elves pattern here.
Moore Patchwork and Quilting, in Australia, owned by Lyn, is a great place to shop for patterns. She is very very nice and always sends on time.
I have subscribed to several BOMs here, patterns only, and I have bought several single patterns and books as well over the last years. Lyn does not sell kits.
Highly recommended - great selection - ships very fast :-)

Doing a happy dance
Don't let fear or common sense stop you from reaching for your goals!
The 2 last blocks done
Monday - the top is joined, borders and all.
Working on the quilting
Someone has to relax around here, while someone else is machine quilting.
I am testing mom's new basket - purr purr
Done, done, done :-)
I really like the outcome of this quilt!
In spite of the slowest delivery of kits ever !
In spite of fabrics lacking in most of the kits!
In spite of the pattern calling for joining of fabrics to make the borders and the kit packed accordingly. 60 cm (23") of each of the 2 border fabrics to make the long borders measuring over 60"…………
I love the joined effort several of us have done through blogland to get these blocks out in daylight again and make a quilt from them.
A special thanks to May Britt - we have pushed and pulled each other every day :-)
Lesson learned:
* Never again order BOM kits from overseas even if it is tempting!
Wait until the BOM comes as patterns only, or live without!
* Together we can do everything!

One more finish this week:
Livglede = Joy of life
My own design - with a touch of stitchery.
Machine quilted by Merete.
I am digging out the next project(s) to give my attention :-)

Daily threads
Since coming home from vacation another bronchitis has got the best of me, hence the silence.
Note to self:
1. Always wear a scarf when on an airplane, AC is not good for me!
2. Make my own arrangement for drinking water when flying - the air crew might not serve me anything other than half a cup of tea. (It's true!)
I am doing my daily thread(s) though, in spite of a nasty cough and a moderate fever coming and going :-)
3 days ago this was the status on Block # 8 and Block # 9:
Status today:
4 more unit to go!
Are you tired of my Butterfly Garden quilt ??
I am, and I am very eager to be done now :-)

NB!
I have now enabled comment moderation on my blog, due to a heavy load of stupid spam.
Who reads Chinese anyway, and who wants to buy cheap shoes and clothes times 11 a day ??
If you do not have a blog, you are now again free to post comments on my blog if you like.
Comments are now open for all.
If you want me to answer you, you have to make sure your contact info is enclosed.
Back to my blocks and a gallon of tea :-)

Summertime
Summer has been busy with stitching, friends, some travel without computer and some more travel.
and joined with the other finished blocks.
I must admit it is a bit hard to keep on keeping on on the Butterfly Garden quilt, but since May Britt is also working along with me, we are pushing and pulling each other not so gently forward ;-)
Counting down now:
Block # 8 - 2 units down, 7 to go
Block # 9 - 5 units down, 4 to go
3 more units prepped - I am going away for a few days again.
In a few days our vacation is over and I will catch up with more vacation blogging.
It is a grey day here - I wish I could go back to Alanya, Turkey!
