Lucky me got to visit Lappeloftet outside Bergen, bringing Dear Jane and Nearly Insane quilts for teaching :-)
Teaching in a shop is always nice, and I like Lappeloftet a lot!
The view from the classroom to the shop, above, and inspiration from the shop, below.
I already have this lovely baby quilt pattern from before – it looks so nice in these Nordic colours :-) I think I have to start one before long!
Shop owner Marianne is testing the curve ruler.
I am inspired to do the same – I have that ruler too, but have not used it yet.
Marianne’s hand pieced (EPP) star quilt,
beautifully machine quilted,
by a local long arm quilter, Siw Unni Kleppe.
All good things come to an end, as does even a lovely weekend with great quilt ladies.
They all got good at traditional hand piecing, and this is the blocks finished.
Some goods had to come home with me too :-)
Thanks for a gorgeous weekend!
Hanne
A beautiful inspiring weekend. The quilt in the first photo is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love the heart-shaped quilt.
Never saw this before, do you know the name of this technique?
Take Care,
Christiane
Flott butikk, jeg har vært innom der en gang. Og heldige er de som får gå på kurs med deg :-)

ReplyDeleteIf you ever come to Toronto, Ontario, Canada please contact me and I'll arrange for our guild to have you teach a class. I don't know anyone making Dear Jane blocks so it would be something completely new to our members.
On another topic, in photo 8, do you know the manufacturer of the fabrics sitting underneath the big tote made from the same fabrics. They have a great business look to them - great for the travelling corporate professional.
Å så mye nydelig å hvile øyet på, og hente inspirasjon fra! Jeg falt spesielt for de nydelige stoffene du hadde med deg i kofferten hjem...
ReplyDeleteAll those quilts are beautiful and I would want to make most of them.
