1 very small finish + many small stitches

P1000855

Even small finishes have great charm :-)
My DD1 made this little cross stitch embroidery for me many years ago, and it has been hidden in a box until I decided to make a little pincushion from it.
I love small pincushions to have in my project boxes. This one finish 2,5”.

For the back side of the pincushion I chose one of my favourite pink Civil War repros + a mother of pearl button.

If you suspect I am digging through my boxes these Christmas days, you are so right :-)
This little Japanese kit is so cute and I got it as a gift from someone who is not fan of the Japanese soft style.
Myself, felted wool does not really do it for me, even if I can see it is nice to look at.
Therefore I decided to change the felted wool applique pieces for fabrics.

Today I decided to make use of my Apliquick tools from Nantes.
They actually are as clever as they looked at the demonstration – how great is that!!
Besides being clever, they bring back good memories of a lovely trip. Win win :-)

Putting the pincushion to good use, the applique is now ready to be stitched down.
I love good tools of all kinds. The Superior thread also makes applique so much more fun!

In the early mornings I try to do a little on my Cornelian quilt blocks every day.

  2. You seem to be having fun with your little projects and your kits. Well done. They look much better done up than sitting in their bags.
